STELLA KUEHL Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2024.
As of the early morning hours of June 30, 2024, another one of Jesus' sweet little lambs is safe within his eternal fold in heaven. Stella Anne Kuehl was called from this life exactly five years (to the day) after she was made a child of God through baptism. The Lord apparently had in mind to give Stella the privilege of living almost her entire post-birth existence (all but her 5 years and 9 days) in the glories of heaven. What an honor and a blessing God has bestowed upon this precious child. And yet, we can't help but weep at the loss of her earthly companionship.

Stella Anne Kuehl was born on June 21, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio to Rev. Stephen Paul Kuehl and Charis Anne Kuehl (nee Witte), and was made a child of God through baptism on June 30, 2019. The name Stella means "Star" - and Stella was a child who shined brightly in so many ways during her short time on this earth. Stella was about as sweet and cute as any young girl could be. She had a vibrant imagination and was smart as a whip. She loved playing with her dolls and barbies, coloring and doing crafts, watching "a show," running errands with mom, and being part of her sisters' escapades and musical productions. Her emotional intelligence was incredibly high and very noticeable to anyone who interacted with her. Most often she was soft-spoken and sweet and an absolute joy to be around, but she also intuitively knew how to play "hardball" on a level that baffled dad and mom and her beloved babysitter on more than one occasion.

Though her departure from this life was sudden and unexpected, Stella was blessed to walk through the valley of the shadow of death accompanied not only by her Lord Jesus but also by her loving mother, Charis, as well as her grandfather, aunt, and two cousins. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Joel Henselin. Stella is survived by her beloved father, Rev. Stephen Kuehl, her two beloved sisters, Norah and Vera, and her beloved babysitter, Nala Kharchla. She is further survived by her grandparents, Rev. James & Carol Kuehl and Mary Witte, her Godparents Sean & Jenny Sweeney and Micah Witte, her Kuehl and Witte aunts & uncles, cousins, and many other relatives and friends - not to mention her preschool friends, her Shepherd of Peace church family, and the entire Christian Church on earth.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 21st from 4pm-8pm at Shepherd of Peace, Powell OH (520 Village Park Dr, Powell, OH). A Christian Memorial Service for both Charis and Stella will take place Monday, July 22nd at 10:30am in the Theater/Auditorium at Olentangy Liberty High School (3584 Home Rd, Powell, OH).

A livestream of the service will be available at: https://www.youtube.com/live/XMUvd4ZGhRA

On the Sunday before Stella´s family left for Wisconsin I was talking with Charis after church during the fellowship time. Stella came over & stood right in front of me and started twirling around & around. Her dress with all of its pastel colors flowed out as she twirled faster & faster. Her smile beamed. That´s the sweet little girl Stella that will always remain with me. We were blessed because of the joy she gave us.

My grand daughter Ophelia was in preschool with Stella. she spoke of Stella everyday about how nice she always was and how much she loved playing with her and being her friend. on the night of preschool graduation Stella came over to where we were all standing outside and said hi Ophelia, this is for you, and handed her an invitation to her birthday party. Ophelia was so happy to receive the invitation but so sad to say good-bye to her preschool friends that she started crying. She said that Stella and Kensleigh were two of her favorite friends and she would never forget them!! Ophelia said I love my friends and my school. Ophelia told me all about Stella's birthday party and about how much fun that they had and how nice her sisters and parents were.

We have a many memories from the last 2 years, my daughter and Stella became friends during their first year in preschool. But the memory I will share is one from her 5th Birthday party a few short weeks ago. The kids had a water balloon and water shooter fight. The giggles and screams from all the kids were constant but sweet little Stella's will forever stay in my mind. She was so excited and having so much fun and her devious little giggle made me laugh. Kensleigh talks about her everyday, we will continue to find ways to honor and keep your memory alive sweet Stella.
