She was the loving wife of Leland G.
Williams Sr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Stella was born in
Reading on March 7, 1933, a daughter of the late Willie and Lizzie (Barr) Williams.
She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church, where she served as a pastor's aide, a deaconess, church clerk,
missionary and arranged a lot of the decorating in
fellowship hall.
Stella was employed by The Reading Hospital in central supply, then moving up to ward clerk for 45 years, retiring in 1998.
She is also survived by her daughter, Renee S. Tames, widow of Gerald H. Tames Jr., of Bernville; her son, Leland H. Jr. and his wife, Delvonnya Williams, of Reading; 3 grandchildren: Leland G. Williams III, Shantaiva Williams and Lakim Moseley.
Services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Zion Baptist Church, 224 Washington St., Reading. Burial to follow in Charles Evans Cemetery. Viewing will be
Wednesday 10-11 a.m. in her church.
