I knew Stephie both as a storyteller and a member of our FALLS writing group. We welcomed our "Winter Texan" each December and regretted her departure in April. She will be missed by our group very much.

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Brewer family. It has been a priviledge to be associated with your son, David, for about 20 years. Mrs. Brewer, you must have been so proud of your son as his character is a reflection of how you raised him. Our prayers go out to your loved ones, especially during the holidays....

It's so appropriate that we are thinking about Stephanie now at Christmas. Her stories & showing about the little people at this time were a unique treat. I always hoped I'd have a chance to hear more about them. There also is the memory of the wonderful party where we shared stories & songs at the boathouse. Flint Area Story Tellers members like myself will know what a friend & fine storyteller & representative of Icelandic culture we have lost. Thank you for this Guest Book since we don't have a way to gather & remember her here in MI right now.

Ms. Brewer seemed to be so thankful for everything and was a joy to be around. It has been a pleasure getting to know the Brewer family. We look forward to spending time with Mr. Brewer in the future and assisting any way we can.

Steffie, you enriched my life with your vast knowledge of many subjects and I learned more from you about the historical connections between Ireland and Iceland than I did from any other source, because of you I want to visit Iceland one day. You have left a wonderful legacy thru your stories and fascinating life.I will miss you and remember you fondly.

Steffie was always such an upbeat person. She had a great sense of humor and our entire group benefitted from her presence among us. She will certainly be missed at FALLS.

Gramma was the only grandmother that I ever knew and I am so grateful to have had almost 31 wonderful years with her in my life. I will always remember her laugh, our trip (me, Gram and Gramps) to Iceland and France in 1992, and how much she loved all of us grandkids. Christmas will not be the same without her storytelling, especially the "jolasveinar", and opening the boxes of chocolate to find that she'd squished all the chocolates and returned the ones she didn't want to the box! I loved her so much and will always miss her.

I met cousin, Stephanie, only once (in 1989), but our common interest in faith and in our genealogical roots in Iceland kept us visiting by letters and phone calls ever since. She had an obvious love for her family and a wonderful sense of humour. Her “sagas” will live on.

"Aunt Steve" was always a favorite relative, ranking right up there with Grandpa and Grandma Athelstan. Her intelligence, sharp wit, openness and good spirits have been dear to me throughout my life. I treasured her efforts to keep us mindful of our common Icelandic heritage, educate us in its traditions and folklore, and to strengthen our ties to our extended family. I also greatly appreciated her compassion and emotional support when I went through some difficult and painful experiences. I am glad that I let her know how much that meant to me.
