Stephanie Wilkes

Stephanie Marie "Stephie" Wilkes, age 41, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on March 19, 1984, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Stephanie brought warmth, laughter, and compassion to all who knew her.

Stephanie had a strong faith rooted in Christianity and found spiritual community at Creekside Church in Galloway. Even when health challenges prevented her from attending services in person, she remained devoted by participating online. Her faith was a guiding light that shaped her generous spirit and unwavering kindness.

Professionally, Stephanie found great joy and fulfillment in her work at Gainwell. She loved her job and the sense of purpose it gave her. Her dedication and enthusiasm were evident to those around her and reflected the pride she took in contributing meaningfully to her workplace.

Stephanie's creativity shone through in everything she did. She had a passion for building intricate 3D Lego kits, exploring artistic pursuits of all kinds, and immersing herself in books. These hobbies were not just pastimes but expressions of her vibrant imagination and thoughtful nature.

Above all else, Stephanie cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her mother and stepfather, Martha and Chris Ferguson; her father and stepmother, Mark and Nichole Wilkes; and her beloved sisters, Kathryn and Madison Wilkes. Stephanie held a special place in her heart for Kathryn and Madison-her pride in them was boundless, and the love she shared with them was one of the greatest joys of her life.

She also leaves behind her best friends and special cousins Kristina Cowling and Rachel May, Special Friend AJ Ames; all of her aunts, uncles, cousins; and many close family friends who were touched by her humor, sweetness, and caring soul. Stephanie had an extraordinary gift for listening with empathy and offering words of encouragement when they were needed most. She would do anything to help someone in need-a true testament to the depth of her compassion.

Stephanie now joins those who went before her: her grandmothers Lois Wilkes and Beverly Pucek; GG Thelma Wilkes; beloved friend Mark Lahman; cousin Nicole Renae Francis; uncles Bill Cole Sr, Thomas Cole, Kevin Tidwell, Mark Tidwell, Darrell Tidwell, William Tidwell, and Kevin Kerns. Their memories live on alongside hers in the hearts of those who remain.

A memorial gathering to honor Stephanie's life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Creekside Church located at 6446 Alkire Road in Galloway, Ohio. The service will begin at 3:30 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM. Following the service, family and close friends are invited to gather at Rachel's home at 6467 Sugar Run Dr., Hilliard, OH 43026. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or The Capital Area Humane Society.

Stephanie's legacy is one of love-deeply felt by those fortunate enough to know her-and a reminder that kindness leaves an enduring mark on the world. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
