Connie--I just heard about your loss this week. I am so terribly sorry. I want you to know that the most stress-free days I ever had at work for GMG were the days I got to be at Steve's clinics. You both did your jobs and were so low-key that I hardly felt like I was working at all. I'll never forget that Steve enjoyed "The Office", just as I did. I'll always remember how gracious he was to allow me to visit my mother in the nursing home at Coffeyville after clinic. When I first asked his permission, his reply was: "Of course. Mothers are important." He was a blessing to all of us. I will be praying for you. May Christ be with you during this difficult time and be with you always. Your friend, Keith Cation.

Timeless Moments-Eternal Friends
The beach north of the pavilion is the same still even as so many years have come and gone. The sun is sinking now, orange lined clouds set in a fading yellow sky. A cool gray mist is rolling in over the dark shadowy breakers along the otherwise peaceful beach. I turn to my friends, one is missing, he was with us only just a
moment ago.... My eyes straining, I look down the beach through the slow moving mist. Ah...I make out his form, he has gone on ahead....Walk on Steve, old friend, walk on for we follow not so far behind....

Dear Connie,
My wife, Marilyn, and I only met you once at Panera Bread, but we feel like we have become very close friends with Steve over the many years that I have experienced his care at Galichia Medical Group. Steve's God given gifts of being calm, a good listener, and a compassionate person was deeply appreciated during our office visits. However, there was one time that his calmness turned into quick action when I was having another heart attack in his office. He often made it very clear that he was always just a phone call away if the need should arise. It didn't take long for Steve to become my preferred PA to work with, and I will deeply miss his services. I will look forward to our reunion in heaven some day.
May God give you comfort and strength as you now cherish the memories of his life and adjust to his transition to his eternal home.

My husband and I were saddened to hear of Steves passing. We met him 10 years ago at Galichia and instantly knew we not only found a remarkable and compassionate caregiver but a real friend. He is truly going to be missed here in our presence but he is now in the loving arms of our Lord. May you find comfort in your memories.

To Connie and family,
There are many things that can be said about your best friend and hubby. The one that comes to mind is that Steve made the world a better place by his being a part of the world. His legacy he leaves not only with you and your family but each person he met whether as a patient or friend, is a tribute to the person he was.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time. May you feel not only the presence of God but His arms of love surrounding you in the prayers and thoughts of so many people.

We are so sorry to read about Steve's passing. Our thougts and prayers are with his wife and family. My husband and I met Steve over a year ago at Galichia's Medical Group. He provided us with emotional support, sound medical advice and encouragement. We couldn't have gone through my medical trauma without Steve's guidance and direction. He will be missed greatly and it won't be the same at Galichia's without him.

How in the world does a person say goodby to a man like Steve Asbury? A finer man I have never meet. We used to tease him that he walked on water. Of course he couldn't but to us it felt like it. He was calm, kind, compassionate and humble. He gave us hope when others said it eas over. He stuck his neck out so far for us we thought it would surely be cut off, but he never wavered. There was never a doubt that he was always in Brian's corner. It sounds to some as if we worshipped the ground he walked on, and I guess we kinda did. To us he deserved it. It's hard to believe he is gone. Heaven gained a beautiful soul. Rest in pease dear friend, Rest in peace! Love and prayers go out to Cindy and the rest of the family

Dear Connie, Steve was a great friend to my parents to my late husband, Bill and to me. He lead me through difficult times in my life and only hope that our long talks while I was his patient, our tears when his health was declining, and the few words of encouragement I could give him gave him some peace. I will truly miss my friend, the gentlest man I ever knew.
Heaven is now a happier place. Connie, you and your family are in my prayers. God be with you.

Connie, A person can mostly count their "true" friends on one hand. Steve Asbury's name will always be on my first finger. I will always remember our last "trip" together to Council Grove, and "our" cry on the telephone talking about Steve's death. With Luana's and my love, Danny Singletary [email protected]
