So sorry to hear of Dr Bradshaw's death. Such a honorable, caring, diligent, true gentleman who I had the pleasure to meet during his time in hospital.
Sending my deepest condolences to all in the family. Especially Kim. You were his rock and you did a great job as his wife and carer.

I wrote what I thought about Stephen here but I think I deleted it. I have cleaned the premises where Stephen Work for many years and one Christmas in front of a lot of patients outside of his office, he shook my hand, thank me for the great job and wished me Merry Christmas. How many doctors would bother to do that I was so honoured PS I only just found this side

I know it’s awhile since Stephen died, but I’ve only just found this. I cleaned the premises where he worked for years and was so proud when he came out with patient sitting outside one Christmas shook my hand and said thank you for the great job you done John and Merry Christmas not many doctors would ever go out of their way to do that.

I have such vivid memories of Prof Bradshaw's teaching and mentorship as a former student of his. I learnt so much from him, lessons I have continued to pass on to my students now that I am a junior doctor.
I remember the first time I saw him examine a patient, and how he would place his hands on their scars, running his fingers along the entire length assessing its integrity. It was different to how I'd seen anyone do it before, and it's something I now do every time.
I remember the first long case I presented, and the gentle, constructive feedback he gave. "Doing a long case is like baking a cake" he would say. "You need to mix all the ingredients and synthesis the story". The same advice I give my students now.
I was saddened to hear of Prof's passing and think of him often. RIP.

Dear Kim
I am so sorry that Stephen has passed. In so many ways it is so unfair. Stephen was at a stage in his life when he should have been enjoying himself with you. Moira and I were so pleased that we got to meet you for dinner in Canberra which now seems so long ago. I will never forget Stephen and have so any memories over many years. He was such a great guy. So kind and considerate. He had such a strong moral compass that defined him. I will really miss him but never forget. Moira sends her love.

I worked decades in Woden Valey (Canberra) Hospital ICU. Stephen was one of the very few surgeons that never caused or contributed to his patients' problems. He was a first class fellow who elevated our vascular surgery to a world-class level.

My deepest sympathies to the family and colleagues of Stephen, he was an incredible man who did the most amazing surgeries on my late husband. He always treated both Greg and myself with the utmost respect and dignity. So very sad to see he now joins the angels.
