Steve, I've been blubbering all day missing you. I think it's 18 years pent up coming out today. I love you and when I get there I'd better hear "These Boots Are Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra on the stereo!

Stephen was strong, mentally, spiritually, and athletically. He consistently won all tennis matches I played when he was my noble opponent. In the early 90´s he visited the Meher Baba Center in India. His quest for religious enlightenment and understanding was his lifelong challenge for knowledge and truth.
Steve was a quiet leader.
"Know this my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
James 1:19
Steve had a massive stroke in 2005 at the age of 49. The Lord gave him 18 more years of grace. Thanks be to God..

"Kind and gentle...caring and conscientious". That says it all. I will miss Steve and the good times we had together, including shooting pool at a billiards hall on Central near Sharon Amity !!

Arnie and I are so sorry to read this, though we are glad that Steve's family was with him when he passed. Our children grew up together in Charlotte Friends Meeting, and he was a loving father and friend.

Working with Steve never felt like work. I look back on our time together and see how much he influenced my life in so many beautiful ways. Our time together is something I will never forget. I am blessed to have been able to have him in my life. He was one of the kindest people I ever had the honor to meet.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Steve was so sweet, kind, compassionate and caring as well as being so gifted in so many areas. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and he enriched our Friendly 8's gatherings even when he was restricted by his illness. His children, now adults, are such a tribute to how wonderfully he raised them. They are both true reflections of his loving nature.
