Stephen Dodge Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2021.
Stephen Charles Dodge was born on January 28, 1941, in Las Vegas, NV, to John and Eva Dodge. At the age of 3, the family moved to Westchester California, where he went to school and graduated from Westchester High School. After High School, he enlisted in the Army and was there for two years. He worked for W.T.C Air Freight. He met, his future wife, Carolyn Ramirez, at his sister's wedding. Steve and Carolyn were married on May 21, 1966. In 1968 Steve went to Woodbury University where he majored in accounting. After graduation, he got a job with the IRS Department in Los Angeles. Soon after that, he got his dream job. He was hired by the US Government Treasury Department as a Special Agent Criminal Investigator. He went on to become a Criminal Investigation Supervisor in San Diego and Orange County. Steve loved his job and was good at it. After retirement, he enjoyed working on their house in Huntington Beach. He also enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle and once made a long trip to Canada by himself. Steve was a wonderful husband and father. His family always came first before anything else. He loved his sons Paul and Ian very much and considered Jeff and Tim, sons in his heart. He enjoyed watching them mature into fine young men. Stephen talked about the love and respect that he had for his own father and mother. He would, also, talk fondly about the summer trips that he took with his mom and dad, sister and brother. Throughout his life, he had many good friends that he really enjoyed. He would always bring up good memories of our friends that we had throughout our lives from the beginning to the end, all 54 years of it. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's, Lewy Body Dementia Disease. He dealt with both, with courage and strength for a number of years. Then the Corona Virus took his life on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2020, under the loving caring hands of the doctors and nurses at OC Global in Orange County, California. He passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 54 years, son Paul and his family Liz, Doug, Jordan, and Paul Jr, granddaughter Kehlani, son Ian and his family Becki, Ruby, and River, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Steven Saitman, and sister-in-law Pat Dodge. He was preceded by his parents and brother Frank Dodge. Stephen will be in our hearts forever and ever. We love you Dad. As he wished, he was cremated and chose to be buried with his wife Carolyn, when her time comes, so they can be together forever.

I met Steve when I worked for US Customs as a stenographer. He was the smartest, kindest person I ever met. He is so missed from this world. Cheryl
