After discovering you from the gin and juice video with Devante for the dangerous minds soundtrack and being exposed to the music and productions you did for yourself and others I could never stop listening to the music you made and the influence is on another level and of course me being 8 years old when you passed looking back I wish you were able to still be here and as you said before we'll meet again.

I remember you wrote many songs for AALIYAH. I grew up listening to You as well as AALIYAH and so many others that the lord has called home. I just want to say may your soul rest now you were and still is a part of music history!! almost 17 years now and I still listen to your music. You are missed and loved by so many. I don't know if it's that I'm emotional but I had to come here to write something to our great native. It breaks my heart to hear him sing because it should never end. I remember that little kid in Joshua singing his little heart out!!! Thank You Lord for allowing him to be as great as he was!!! To his family if you all ever think we have forgotten about him NO WAY he will forever live as I teach my kids The Who's who's of Louisville! Thank You yo his mom for such a wonderful man! It is 2017 and it is still hard to believe Steve is gone. Out of all the people I have encountered in life, Static was one of the coolest,humblest, most talented dudes I ever met. I was blessed and honored to know him and grateful to have been his friend. His legacy will never be forgotten and we will all continue to keep his name alive. The first Static song I heard was Pony by Ginuwine 1996. I had to have been about 4 years old singing that song. My mom was like OMG stop it,lol fast forward 20 years later it was pretty darn funny I didnt know what I was siging about. Static broke the barrier for R and B. For the last decade he has created some of my favorite hits by my favorite artist Aaliyah, Monica, Brandy, Destiny's Child, Tank, Playa, Ginuwine..... When Static passed we lost a very talented young man. I'm just sorry that we won't getting to hear anymore of the wonderful music that he produced. When I heard that Static major passed away, I kept saying to myself it ain't true. I felt like I knew you. I am a fan. I've been one since you did Loose Rap with my kinfolk Aaliyah. It is hard to believe someone so talented has passed on. I have been a big fan of Playa since they first came on the scene. Any soundtrack or anything with Playa on it I bought it. Static was my favorite. I thought he was the finest thing walking. He will missed greatly. To his family, May God keep you and comfort you all at this difficult time.

To this day it is still unbeliveable so i'll say one love forever and you will live though me. Your best goon.

What can I say I have been a fan since Playa came out, it brings back so many memories. You have accomplished so MUCH in your lifetime and I can't believe that this happened to you. I will truly miss you. My condolences go out to his family.

It's always hard to lose someone special in your life, but what helped console me with this sad situation is that Static lived his whole life fulfilling his dreams and doing what he LOVED. Just thinking about that puts a smile on my face because not too many people in life can say that, including me. Some of us live day by day just doing the regular 9-5 and don't ever tap into our creative side or our God giving talent to make a difference.. Static did that and I commend him, his family and close friends for living and enjoying that life with him!! God bless you all and he will comfort you and bring peace to you all in this time of pain, he always does:-)

Stevie's passing like that of his sister Melinda, was a poignant reminder that tomorrow is not promised to any of us. They were my cousins, but we had not seen each other in a long time. Stephen and I spoke on the phone from time to time over the years, but for now our reunion has been postponed. I say all of that to say this...if you have family members that you haven't seen or talked to in a while, call them today. If you have a family reunion coming up, go and be with your family. If you don't have a reunion coming up, plan one, make the calls, be the organizer. I know that I will see my cousins again, when we all get to heaven. Until then I say, rest in peace. Avonti and Aunt Edie, you and the children will be in my prayers. God will take care of you.
