Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

To Mim,Adam,Jill & Ash

How can it be a year already? We still can't believe he is gone.If I close my eyes I can see Steve in the driveway ( bathing suit, tank top,no shoes) washing the car. It seems like yesterday. They say time heals but I know that we miss Steve every bit as much today so I can't imagine the pain that you bear. I hope you find solace in all the wonderful memories you have of him. We will always treasure the times we spent with him and still talk about him often. The neighborhood is definatley not the same without him. And I am convinced every time the Red Sox lose that he has something to do with it!

As always you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Love, Bev,Doug,Cade & Lauren

Mimi, Adam, Jill & Ashley, You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Steve was a wonderful friend as well as a co-worker. This place is not the same without him and never will be. I often find myself thinking of something funny he said or did that brings a smile to my face. Steve would get several of us in the office to go out for a walk during lunch. Often I would say that I was too busy and he would say that the work will always be there. I really appreciated that Steve not only encouraged me to take a break from work but also got some exercise. Steve would gather up the group which was Milton, Ramon, Chantal, Johanna and myself to go walking. He was like the pied piper of the office. Steve was a wonderful friend coming all the way to Dedham to pick me up and take me back and forth to work when I was not able to drive. He always came with a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee waiting for me in the morning. When we would go out for our walks during lunch, Milton would make a stop for his peanuts, Steve would stop to get a slice of pizza and I always stopped by Dunkin Donuts for my coffee. There were times that I did not go out for the walk but Steve would bring me back a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. During our walks Steve would look for this homeless women he would meet on Newbury St and stop to chat and give her some money or a pack of cigarettes. He always did something nice for someone. I can't thank him enough for all the help and training he has provided to all of us at work. He traveled to St. Louis and Tampa to learn the work, document the process and come back here to train us. Steve made so many friends in St. Louis as well as Tampa and it shows how well he was loved by all. I will miss my good friend and am so glad that I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Steve for many years. When I came back to Policy Change in 2000, Steve put up his arms and said yeah your coming home. He made me feel good to be coming back to Policy Change after being in another area for six years working with him again. Steve, I am sorry to see you go but am glad that you are no longer suffering. Until we meet again. "Annie Get Your Gun" I miss you calling me this but several people have caught on and I am still getting called this. Steve you have made so many friends everywhere you go. You will not be forgotten.

I'm Steve's first cousin, just a couple of months younger. My mother and his mother were sisters. Steve always lived in the same town, and I always lived from place to place. But when we got together we had the best times teasing the younger kids. We made acorn mush at Uncle Jack's and got the others to eat it. We got them to drink black shoe polish at Auntie Anna's. Steve's mom (my late and very beloved Auntie Debby) used to get so mad at us! We'd blame each other, nobody would suffer the consequences, and we always congratulated each other on our accomplishments!

Seriously though, Steve was truly a gem in this world, a kind hearted and fun guy with a smile and a good word for everyone he met.

To those of my family: email me ... I miss you guys.

Only the good die young. RIP Stevie, I'll see you in the next life!

Thanks for the great time in Toronto Uncle Steve

I was Steve's secretary several years ago & was so saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a wonderful co-worker and friend; I will always remember his humor & warmth, and the down to earth way he had about him that made everyone around him feel at ease. Even though I had not seen him in a while, I feel the loss of Steve as someone I considered a good friend. It was truly an honor to have known him and I will always remember & miss him. Deepest condolences to his family; thoughts & prayers are with you.

Mimi,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am truely greatful for the short time I got to work with Steve. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyable to be around and always knew how to make people laugh. Even though I want to cry at the lost of such a great person, I always seem to end up laughing when thinking of the memories of Steve and things he would say or do. He has left an ever lasting impression in my life (many lives) and will never be forgotten. As a friend he was a gift and will deeply be missed. Always remember the spirit of Steve lives in the hearts that loved him.

So many people have expressed such loving thoughts and memories of Steve in so many ways, all saying,"Gone but not forgotten." How true! Every time you eat Chinese food, hear Frankie Valli, The Four Seasons, or the Beatles, read or hear about the Yankees or the Patriots, get together with family, friends, or neighbors, or smirk just because - you'll think of Steve. To paraphrase the Wizard to the Cowardly Lion, "It's not how much you love, it's how much you are loved." Steve was very, very loved.

Adam, Jill, and Ash,

Your dad was so much fun to be with and he certainly knew how to liven up a party! He was such a hard worker and was always willing to help someone out. (Erik never would have found those awesome Bridgewater junkyards without Uncle Steve.) Lean on each other during the coming days and have faith in God. (I have a strong feeling that right now, our dads are sitting under some chiki hut in Heaven enjoying a "refreshment" together.) I love you guys and I will be praying for you.

Love,

Em

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve was a great guy, but you knew that. He will be missed. I will always remember the only Yankee fan in Boston. I’m sure he is watching over the Yankees now. They won 3 in a row since he joined the team.

God Bless you all in your time of sorrow.
