Stephen Joyce

Stephen Anthony Joyce passed away Christmas time, 2024 in Aurora, Colorado. His home was in Los Alamos, NM but he spent time in Aurora when he had medical appointments at the transplant center located there. He had a double lung transplant in 2018 and used his new lease on life to continue doing the things he loved.

Stephen was born in Pittsburg, PA but grew up in Milton, MA. He received his BS from Boston College and PhD in chemistry from MIT. He loved the many areas of research in which he was involved. His colleagues called him "Doc" and the "Answer Man".

He never took himself too seriously, had a fantastic sense of humor, and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved his dogs, bird watching, accumulating knowledge in many areas within and outside of science, sea kayaking, photography and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Bobbi, sister Rose and brother Peter. He will be seriously missed by his entire family and the many friends he made throughout his life.

So it's time to say goodbye to our buddy. He can say with certainty he had a successful life because he had a positive impact on so many of his friends and family. It made a difference that he lived.

His favorite charity was Brent's Place of Aurora, Colorado with a mission to help those families that are affected by organ transplants.
