Running into Steve during his days at LANL, and then later on at the ski hill after he had retired, was always a highlight of my day. Steve and I used to crack each other up each time we met—memories I will always cherish. I recall several such times when we were both doubled over laughing like mules who had gotten a snoot full of loco weed. Good stuff!

I will miss Steve's gravelly laugh, that twinkle in his eye, and his serious, intense appreciation for the outdoors and everything there is to do in it. Steve, you made the world a better place! Rest in peace, my friend.

(And I hope Steve's family will accept my deepest condolences and respects as well.)

Seems like such a lifetime ago, but prior to my leaving LANL in 1996 with 20 years of service, I had the great pleasure of working with an outstanding person and manager, your loved one, Steve McCleary. I was in procurement and he was on the requester's side in the cafeteria. I wished all my requesters had Steve's personality...always so kind and a gentleman. He is at peace now and may you be comforted with the knowledge that he is not suffering anymore. Reminds you how precious life is. May God bless you during this time and always rejoice in the wonderful memories he left each and every one of you.

Ellen and family.....Richard and I were so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I remember you from Farmer's insurance. We knew over the years he was not well, but hope you know he is in peace now and you are in our thoughts.
