I loved it when I had Thanksgiving and Christmas with my grandpa, Stephen (My Grandpa It made me smile when he told jokes, I thought he was hilarious, or when he told me a funny story. I will always remember him, forever, I loved picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch by his house with him every fall. I learned a lot from my grandpa, he taught me valuable life lessons I'll never forget

I count myself blessed that Judge Miller crossed my path in this life's journey.
Such a down-to-earth friend to everyone he met. Always a story to tell...
"Titles" meant little to him.
He treated everyone he met with kindness and respect.
Such a humble man.
Everyone I knew loved working with him. We loved him.
Christopher Robin, whispered Pooh.
Yes, Pooh Bear?
I'll never not remember you ever.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
❤ Mary

Steve was very important to my mother, Shari Mcallister. I appreciate the time and care he gave. Not only in service to the community but in service to those he cared for. He gave my mother a peace she hadn't seen in a long time and i appreciated his friendship with her. I've known of Steve and his family my whole life and I wish them happiness in this time of sadness.

On behalf of the St. Philip class of 1963, we extended our prayers and sympathy to Ben, Beth and Steve's sisters on the loss of your father, grandfather and brother. Steve was an engaging classmate who provided us with his wit, life's observations and music. I recall spending many Saturday nights with other classmates at Kevin McGuire's home listening to them play their guitars.
Steve attended many of our class reunions, the last being in August 2018 shortly after he lost his dear wife, Patty. We were not sure he would attend, but he did and enjoyed being with us. His presence will surely be missed by not only by our classmates, but by all who were privileged to know him.
May he Rest In Peace! ✝

My fondest memory of Steve is how he honored my parents. Whenever there was a family gathering, Steve would always take time to sit with my parents and focus on them, listening intently to what they had to say. My mother Ruth, adored him and always wished she could watch him in action in the court room. My dad Walter respected Steve and so appreciated his respect in return.
I am honored to have known Steve.

I began working for the Calhoun County Circuit Court in 1975 and met Steve not long after that. I came to know him well after he joined the circuit bench. Outside of the courtroom he was an engaging conversationalist who was always willing to talk about his two favorite topics: his children and his beloved MSU. I had dozens and dozens of cases before Judge Miller. He was a good man. My sympathies go out to his children, grandchildren, sister and all those who loved him. He will be missed.
