I only just read of Steve's passing. Words can't express this loss. His parents and mine were good friends. I remember family gatherings and fun times. My heartfelt condolences on your loss. What a wonderful person he was!!!

Kelly & I belatedly learned of Steve's passing just a day after what would have been his 63rd birthday.

Steve is much missed and much remembered as a most honorable human being. He was our friend, neighbor and inspiration in Chicago and here, in Saugatuck.

After serving the needs of others so they may have comfort, may he finally rest well.

Steve was a good friend many years ago. I am proud to know he had such a positive impact on so many other people.

Steve and I worked together at Allstate Insurance Company in the 1980's. He was always so fun and gregarious and on the hunt for chocolate. He had a place he visited some weekends in Michigan that required a long drive. Somehow, he figured out how to wire a small t.v. set to his vehicle's engine so that the television would run in his car. I can't imagine how much of the screen images he could see, but the idea was so innovative and really solved a problem for him -- getting entertainment for his drive. He was a great guy who made quite a difference in the days of many.

I remember what a wonderful young man Steve was and I used to enjoy sending birthday cards to him for years as his birthday was the same as my son Jack.. He was like his parents, loving and caring and never knew a stranger. Charlotte Davis

I was fortunate to be part of Steve's team at Sears. He was so knowledgeable and talented -- we all learned from him. But he also made work a fun place to be. We shared many laughs. Steve was a kind and caring person. I remember very well that his family was so important to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn this very sad loss.

Steve brought out the best of everyone who worked with him at Sears. He was a pro at nurturing talent among the ranks, but he also cared about the person behind the title. He was a true mentor and friend. Rest in peace, Steve.

Steve and I worked together at Sears in the Public Relations Department. He mentored many of us and was always there for his team and friends. All of us who had the privilage to know and work with him have our own special memories of moments in his presence. A man of integrity and wisdom, he will be missed by many. I consider myself blessed to have known him.

People were immediately drawn to Steve. Such a powerful personality, but a gentle one. Steve was caring, compassionate, kind. A mentor to all. He communicated not only with words, but deeds. A beautiful and generous soul with wonderful wit. I've missed him every day since I left Sears.

We met only once but a distant cousin vividly remembered as being so like my own brother. To Ed and Marge deepest sympathy from one who knows what it's like to lose a child. God grant you the strength to overcome this adversity.
