Steve and I shared so much growing up in Jacksonville, we became instant friends. I remember a new elementary school opened up in our neighborhood and I was sitting in the class not knowing anyone and then someone tapped me on the shoulder and said hi, my name is Steve, what's your name. That was around 1958, Steve was taller than me so later on our classmates referred to him as big Steve and me as little Steve. We lost touch with one another when he and Kathy moved to Chicago, but then reconnected in 2009. The joy of that is difficult to describe. It was as if we had just talked to each other the previous day. How blessed I am to have a Best Friend Forever!

I am deeply saddened to learn of Steve's passing. We were friends and classmates at Paxon High School. Steve was always smiling and fun to be around. Dear Kathy and family,
My deepest sympathy to you and for family for your loss. Steve was my cousin. My father Frank and Steve's dad were brothers. I will always remember all of the wonderful time we had together as children while growing up in Jacksonville. We lost contact with each other when my family moved to California back in the 60's. I wish we had kept in touch with each other as adults. You can tell from the photo's that Steve was a family man and loved his family and grandchildren very much.
Love to all of you. Steve still has a 92 year old Aunt Tina Napoli who also sends her deepest sympathy to each of you.
Love,

Dearest Kathy and family--my sincerest heartfelt condolences to you all for the loss of such a loving man. I can remember our early days at the old reservation center at Amtrak and always hearing his jovial laughter between calls. I can hear him calling out to Karen--"Now Boogie" and everyone laughing at his endearing tone to her. He always had a wonderful smile and when I found out that he and Kathy were going to get married I was thrilled for both of them. They were truly so in love and excited about starting a wonderful life together and what a wonderful life they have made. To his daughters, you had one of the BEST dads a girl could ever want to have and your mom is AWESOME too. Much love to you all and you will continue in my prayers always. Kathy, Rachel & Matt, Christine & Jonathan, Karyn and the precious grandkids,
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to each one of you. Steve was a great man and loved his Lord. May each of you find God's perfect peace in the days, weeks and months to follow. My first time meeting Steve was when we started the Market Day program at South Side Baptist School, he would come and unload the truck for us and I will always remember and be thankful for his help.
May each of you find something he had shared or taught you that would be meaningful to share with others, that's how his legacy will carry on for years to come. My prayers are with each of you.
Love,
Linda Garrison
