Stephen R. Plantinga

He left a marvelous legacy in his daughter, Dr.Michelle Oakley, a Canadian vet in the Yukon, and his exceptional granddaughters, Sierra, Maya, and Willow. They are doing more than serving animals: they are shining the light of the critical, positive impact that interpersonal contacts can provide to all. And all they do is done knowing Shane, (Dad) is there, giving each of them such a solid foundation, a north star.

Dr Oakley, You have been 50% of my ability to still "be" here: you said "people would recover better & faster if they were like dogs....live in the moment". I am sure your Dad knew without a tiny doubt how much he was loved by you, Shane & girls. Loss is hard; so I hope you choose to remember ONLY the good times.
Carole, June 11/21. I planted a tree in your honour in my community to replace one the city took. Am up to 120evergreens and I think of your motivational persona weekly. Thank you so much.

I am sorry for your loss. I am sure he was proud of his family.

I watch his daughter save animals every day. I looked him up after I saw a show dedicated to him. He must have been a great man to raise such a wonderful daughter. God bless and my heart goes out to Michelle and all your family

I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. He was a great guy and fun to be with, especially on the golf course. He will be missed.
