Stephen James Russell, Sr., 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at his home with family by his side.
He was born on Wednesday, July 21, 1948, to the late James B. and Aline (Elsfelder) Russell in Evansville, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae (Kissell) Boritzki-Russell; son, Stephen J. Russell, Jr.; stepchildren, Jeremy Boritzki, Damon Boritzki, Jason Boritzki (Dec.), Michael Boritzki, Jonathan Boritzki; sisters, Janet (Mike) Mattingly, Gail (John) Dunn, Janie (Rick) Dennis; grandchildren, Serenity Gentry-Russell, Adain Gentry-Russell, Kadin Gentry-Russell, Cody Boritzki, Michael Boritzki, and Fayth Boritzki.
Stephen was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove, Mooresville, and Indianapolis until his retirement.
Visitation is Saturday, January 28, 2023, 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
Funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.

I have so many fond memories of growing up with Steve in the same neighborhood in Evansville. Steve was always so kind and so much fun to be around. Thank you, Steve, for your military service to our country and also for your service to St. Francis Hospital. My condolences to Dot and all those who loved him so much.
