My condolences to the Sanna Family on Steve's passing. I read the news in the recent Miami Magazine. I was a walk-on center and kicker at Miami in 1974 and Steve treated me like a 4 year letter winner...that was his personality, no favorites. I was proud to be on the sideline for the 1974 Miami-Kent State game where Steve engineered the winning drive in just over 1 minute. He was a true leader . Love and prayers to the entire Sanna Family.

God Bless the Sanna's , Steve was the best boss I ever had. He was an honest straight forward man. He inspired me to live my dream. I hope I made it easier for him to be a father , I hope, because I put him through hell, not intentionally , but because he was my Victor, New York older brother .

My condolences to the entire family. I knew Steve in high school and considered him a friend. Steve was a man among boys and always had a kind heart and an understanding of the big picture of life. Steve was never to busy to listen, help out a friend, or just be there when needed. He was a leader. God Bless you my friend and Rest in Peace Steve Sanna. You are a special man and I can see by the video you were surrounded by a loving family. Again, my condolences to all. He touched a lot of lives.

I have known Steve since Junior High School. Played ball with him and always enjoyed his competitive nature. He was a leader by example and good at it.
About 16 months ago Steve and I attempted to contact each otherand get together in the Palm Springs area but were unable to do so. I had hoped we would have or we would be able to do so in the future. Steve was a solid guy. This is such sad news.
My sincere condolences to all of the Sanna family!!!

Steve hooked me up with a lot of quick passes that help to lead the Shaker Red Raiders to the Lake Erie League co title in our senior year!! He couldn't hit me on the Square in or stop n go, but we worked out the quick pass, that was never intercepted, and we had a 90 % connection rate, with an average 8-12 yards per play!! The longest gain we connected on was against Shaw. We broke it for ~60-65 yards, to the Shaw 18 or so yard line, before the other side safety ran me out of bounds. He was also a solid shortstop on the baseball team. He was a tribute to our team, and a great team player! Your families are in our Prayers!! Monnica and Ed Rose, offensive and defensive end

Ellen and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met "Snake" as an associate friend of Al Vyverberg and Jay Hill, back when Steve was their roommate on Vassar Street, back in 1979. Those were glorious years, we played hoops, and had great times at the Vassar Street house and later at the Garson Avenue house.
Steve was a genuine guy who you could trust emphatically...I was shocked to read the sad notification and am sorely disappointed in myself for not staying in contact w/ him over the years. The last time I saw hime was at his business when I stopped in to see if he was there, just to shoot the breeze and he was!! Unfortunately, that was probably 7-8 years ago and I as you, feel dreadful about his passing. Stay strong, that is how he would want it to be.
Sincerely,
Matt Hyde

Dear Sanna Family-
Words will never express what Steve meant to me personally. There are people you cross in your lives that make a profound impact and help shape us into the people we are- and make the world a better place- Steve was one of those guys to me... I could write pages of the fond memories and life lessons he taught me through 6 years of working at Bristol's from my Junior year of High school through College. I feel very fortunate to have visited Victor and had a chance to spend 30 minutes with Steve this past May. He was so proud sharing all the accomplishments of his children and gave me some great feedback on life as our conversation's always did. Rest in Peace Steve and may God Bless the Sanna Family.

As a high school classmate and friend of Steve's, I was heartbroken to receive this news. Steve was not only a terrific athlete, he was also a phenomenal teammate. He was an "achiever through work", not just a product of athletic predisposition. He WORKED and constantly challenged himself to get better. The success he enjoyed in three sports at Shaker Heights High was testament to this work ethic, as was, even more impressively, the remarkable impact he made at Miami - quarterbacking two undefeated teams ('73 and '74). Perhaps most notable, however, is that Steve was never arrogant, self-absorbed or "all about me." He was understated, supportive of others and always self-effacing, irrespective of any personal accolades that he received. I'm proud to have been his friend "back in the day" and can only extend my most heartfelt sympathies to Ellen, their children and the entire Sanna Family.
