Stephen Scomis Obituary
Born in Lowell on September 20, 1953, he was a son of Peter and Mildred (Firth) Scomis who survive him and reside in Lowell. Mr. Scomis was a self-employed contractor and owner of Countryside Home Improvements in Chelmsford. He was a former employee of the Chelmsford Post Office and the Currier Citizen. Mr. Scomis was a member of the Chelmsford Country Club and an avid golfer and fisherman.
Besides his wife of 29 years, and his parents, he is survived by three children, Kimberly A. Scomis, Matthew S. Scomis, and Brian D. Scomis and his wife Jennifer all of Chelmsford, a brother, William Scomis of Tyngsborough, a sister, Kathryn Portuese of Chelmsford, and his mother in-law, Ann (Ryan) Burns of Dracut.
Friends will be received at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the Matthews Memorial Church, 128 Gorham St., Chelmsford. Even though we have not seen each other much over the last few years I thought of Steve often.

To our dear Scomis family, We were all so saddened to hear about Dear Steve's passing. He was a true gentle man and a wonderful friend and family man. I always enjoyed when he would come over to renovate our home. He was a true craftsman in every sense of the word. When I go from room to room all I see is Steve's smile. Its in every corner of my home. He was so proud of all of you and when he talked about you there was aways a big smile on his face. He leaves quite a legacy that you all can be so proud of. Kathy & family:
Sometimes, as hospice nurses, we meet people who immediately touch our hearts.
