Stephen Warner Sherman

Stephen Warner Sherman died May 6, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born in New York City, August 11, 1941, to the late Harold and Phyllis Sherman and is survived by siblings, Mark Sherman and Suzanne White. He married Hazel Burgette in 1963. He is survived by their 2 children, Kimberly Dobaj and David Sherman and 2 grandchildren, Demitri Dobaj and Harrison Dobaj.

Stephen earned degrees in Math and Computer Science from NC State, University of Wisconsin, University of New Mexico and a Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin.

Stephen alternated between academia, industry and consulting. He taught at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a full professor. He managed the Software Technology Center at Lockheed and as a contractor for the Air Force at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL until he retired in 2008.

Stephen enjoyed golf and wind surfing and was a dedicated NY Yankee. He loved and shared humor and faithfully followed Dilbert comics.

In 2016, Stephen met a wonderful lady and his personal bridge instructor, Darlene Riepling, who has been his constant companion. At Stephen's request, there will be no service and his ashes have been scattered in Lake Mead.
