Stephen J. Szantai HAMILTON Stephen J. Szantai, 85, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on August 21, 2021, at RWJUH in New Brunswick, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael J. & Mary Veres Szantai; wife, Helen P. Zuczek Szantai, and brother, Michael Szantai. Surviving are his children, Stephen M. Szantai of Somerspoint, NJ, daughter, Cindy & husband Greg Szokol of Florida, and son Eric & wife Rebecca Szantai of Baldwinsville, NY; sister, Mary Ann Buroczi of Columbus, NJ; five granddaughters: Marissa, Erin and Danielle Szantai, as well as Emily and Gracie Szokol; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family members. Born and raised in Trenton, Stephen spent all of his life in the Trenton and Hamilton area. Stephen served in the Army National Guard for 5 and a half years. He worked for F&A Distributing for 25 years and also owned Nate's Pub from 1974-1986 as well as being the owner of Penline Composition in Ewing Township from 1964 to 1989. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with family and friends. He was a "History Buff" and very passionate about world history. Stephen was best known for socializing with everyone. Family and friends are invited for calling hours on Thursday morning, August 26, 2021, from 8:00am to 10:45am at Winowicz Funeral Home, 308 Adeline Street, Trenton, NJ. Following the calling hours at the funeral home, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Hedwig Church at 11:30am, 872 Brunswick Avenue, Trenton NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers masses be sent for Stephen.
