Stephen Toback Obituary
July 30, 1935 ~ October 18, 2008
MONTEREY – Stephen Toback, age 73, passed away at home October 18, 2008. Born in New York State and raised in New Rochelle, NY, Steve dedicated his life to music at an early age. He graduated with a bachelor of music degree from the Eastman School of Music, taught music in New Rochelle, and later moved to California. For Steve, life was a daily celebration of saying yes. He enjoyed simple pleasures, going to concerts, playing his trumpet and being with his two cats. While in New York, Steve played with the Imperial Brass and in Monterey, he played with the Pacific Brass Band and the Salinas Valley Symphony. He is survived by his two daughters, Allegra and Sabrina, both of New York, and his companion, Mary Zweig of Monterey.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Little Chapel-By-The Sea,65 Asilomar Boulevard, Pacific Grove at 1:00 p.m.
