Dear Steve,
With Daddy's passing, I miss you more than ever. You and I were kindred spirits sharing the same values, and profound feelings for our parents... You "got me" and I "got you". You were my rock. I so wish you were here so I could seek your help and wisdom. I pray you can whisper in my ear and gently guide me. You are not just my little brother but my dearest, most trusted friend. I love you.

My Loving Husband

Thank you, my precious husband, for your great, abundant personality that could fill an entire room full of people with love, friendship, laughter and joy; especially with us, your family. We miss the way you lavished us with your love and enjoyed every minute of the spoiling. We miss your silly antics, pet names and coy way of getting exactly what you wanted. I miss hearing of your aspirations for furthering your education, traveling to new places, and talk of new things to buy or do. Your love for travel and adventure is ingrained into the fabric of our lives. We desire to be in the places you loved and we see you smiling there with us and remember all your favorite and funny experiences. Your keen sense of humor is present within us and echo's throughout our everyday lives bringing such joy as we retell the stories and memories over and over again. They are such a great part of this families heritage and bring us so much happiness. We feel your love, we hear your motivating words of encouragement echoing in our hearts, and we know that the strong arms and strong will that always held this family together are still holding on in our hearts forever. I love you, my precious, dear, sweet husband, my true love!

Here we are 7 months since you passed, and I still sometimes forget that you are gone until a moment when I mention your name "my dad" in conversation. I will always miss you and will never forget all the wonderful things that you taught me, all the memories we had together, nor all the love you had for me and our family. I am so happy you were able to come and hold your baby grandson, for the first time before you passed.

I miss my father everyday. I constantly think of our funny and fulfilling conversations on my long drives home. He taught me a great deal of what it is to be a man, a provider for my family, and a person who takes action. I am forever grateful for all the characteristics that where bestowed on me from my father.

Dearest Steve,
We still cannot believe you have gone on ahead of us. Your absence is felt everyday but as I look into the faces of your beautiful children, I see your eyes looking back at me. You are forever in my heart. Love you now and forever, Laura Lou

Nancy and family. My heartfelt sympathy for your huge loss. I am still in disbelief. Not only were we friends at the Newman Center before you were both married but our lives touched many times over the years. We took classes together through NAU, and a lot of weekend courses at Ottawa trying to expedite things. Then we would get together occasionally for lunch while he worked for the City of Phx. Later I would run into him in downtown restaurants when he was at the County. Nancy, you were always the light of his life as well your eleven kids. I will miss him always telling me a joke to make me smile and laugh. God Bless all of you. You had a wonderful send off for him. He would have been so pleased. RIP my friend. You are loved and look forward to seeing you again some day.

I am so sorry for Steve's passing. I was able to view first hand his professionalism and dedication to his family and career. He was taken from us at a far too young age. My sincerest sympathy. You are in my prayers for healing from this great family loss.

A Dear Friend

What a wonderful friend in Steve.
Big man, big laugh, big ideas and big heart.
That is why I can't believe,
From the Earth he did depart.
He was quick with a smile every day.
His love for life was apparent to all.
He would never ignor you or betray,
Rare and pure as a desert snowfall.
I was blessed to have know such a soul.
Genuine, caring and compassionate.
Miss him, I will, a thousandfold.
Steve Wetzel, someone I will never forget.

I will miss my brother-in-law dearly, but he will never be forgotten. I will see him in eleven faces constantly. I will miss teasing him and giving him grief, but I will mostly miss him teasing me and giving me grief. Rest well my friend.

I was shocked to see this. Nancy and family, you are all in my prayers. Steve was a wonderful family man. It has been many years since I have seen him, but many prayers for all of you.

Steve was a great leader and a fantastic person to work for, he carried a passion for doing technology right that spilled over to those around him. He continues to build his legacy on the other side of the veil and is undoubtedly an asset to Heaven. He will be missed.
