Scott, may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. We love you!

Stephen was the top volunteer at the Architecture Foundation when I worked there. He gave brilliant, informative and inspiring tours and was loved by guests and colleagues. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes to improve programming. He never heard a historical bit of gossip which couldn´t be worked into a presentation. He was also a true and loyal friend.

Stephen my brother, knowing you are no longer on this earth hurts, I know we did not always see eye to eye but you are my brother and ill miss you i hope to see you again in haven with mom and dad and Eric. ill do my best to do what you wanted with your ashes and we will have a marker in Anchorage for you next to mom and dad. Steve you no longer have to deal with the struggles here on this earth, this is the only thing that shines a light on your death for me. I LOVE YOU AND WILL SEE YOU ON THE OUTHER SIDE LOVE SCOTT.

Although my time with Stephen was limited, he made sure it was memorable. Stephen is a man of class! I enjoyed every conversation I had with him, especially when he shared his favorite life experiences, whether it was about his travels, favorite restaurants, or his favorite books. He takes you along with his story as if you were there at that moment.

He made sure I knew that I was appreciated! He often ended our conversations-well, actually, they were more like venting sessions (haha)-with, "Thank you for allowing me to rant. I truly appreciate you!"

Your spirit will continue to be with us through your historical arts! Thank you, Stephen, for the little time I had with you!

I met Stephen on nearly the first day I arrived at Hall Health. He spied a book of the history of the Mediterraean Sea on by chair. That began a long relationship of at least weekly discussions in my doorway or his talking about what we were reading. We humored one another about how far we were digging into the footnotes and references--he was always digging further. I last spoke with Stephen May 31 before my vacation and venture into retirement. We each spoke of travel plans and books and each thank one another for our years of weekly conversations. I said I would be back to fill in when needed. I didn't realize that would be the last I would speak with Stephen. I am so sad to know that he is gone, but think of him whenever I pick up a thick tome of history. Bill Neighbor

I worked with Stephen at Hall Health and always enjoyed our meetings and interactions. He was a beloved co-worker and friend to many people at Hall Health and his untimely death deeply saddened us all. He is missed and remembered fondly as a dedicated team member and colleague, and a close friend to many here at HHC.

I worked with Stephen for his entire time at Hall Health and considered him to be a friend and a co-worker. We shared stores about travel and art and medicine that kept me going on challenging days. He is very missed at Hall Health. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful human with us all.
