With fond memories from his college recommendation:

"Steve's classroom participation is specifically impressive. Matching his strong physical presence, he is an ox willing to carry a conversation if it is needed. While thoughtful and humble, he is willing and able to get a conversation going. It is quite remarkable, actually; I appreciated his participation very much.

I also found that Steve's approach to writing was unique and inspirational. On his own, Steve would go the store to buy a newspaper so that he could read about current events and find the right stories to trigger thoughtful reflections that connected to the course material. That is an approach I have not seen before."

May you rest in peace, brother.

My son Jack played rugby with Stephen and recalls his leadership when first going out for the team. Stephen's love of the game passed down to Jack who went on to play all through college and still today. My own family lost a loved one at 25 in a car accident so we know the terrible pain you are going through. My heart breaks for the entire family and the Xaverian Rugby community. May you be comforted by God's never-ending love and compassion.

I gasped when I heard the news of Stephen's passing. I remember him as a young Boy Scout working diligently on his merit badges and scout skills, impressing me equally with his knowledge, his drive, and his comportment. That he achieved Eagle Scout at the age of 16 is a mark of honor and achievement. My condolences to his family, most especially to mother Debbie with whom I associated on scout event planning, and to all his friends at this very sad time.
