I met Sterling at Pearl Harbour in 2012 got the very first time and boy was he a special man. Not only did he dedicate his life to his country and family he let us from other countries understand just how it was on that fateful day. We spoke of my father in Papua New Guinea and he said boy they had it rough, . What a legend he was and will remain in the hearts of my girls and my grandchildren who he spoke with on our many trips to Pearl Harbour.Sterling was a man above men and our honour to meet him.

My daughter and I met Sterling in March of 2010. We talked with him for over 20 mins and what a wonderful man. He said my daughter reminded him of his wife when he first met her and talked of the prejudice she experienced in the Midwest due to her being Asian. He told stories about her and his experiences during the attack of Pearl Harbor. We bought his book and he signed it for my daughter. His spirit and strength of character lives on in his writing. Safe travels my friend. Aloha

I had the honor of meeting this hero in 2017. The Lord knows we need more people like Sterling today. There is a reason why they were called the greatest generation. Thank you for your service sir .

I was born in 1960...way prior to Peral Harbor. But after touring the Arizona Memorial, I wanted to take the time to sit just for a few minutes and speak with a real American Hero. Sterling took the time to personally autograph the book Pearl Harbor, where he is pictured and speak about that horrible day. So much history young people are missing. Life is short, so my advice is, stop and take the time to appreciate the people who fought for our freedom. Rest in Peace, buddy.

We met Mr. Cale at the Pearl Harbor memorial in 2007. We had traveled there on a vacation. He was setting in a tranquil area near the museum in site of the memorial. In order for my nephew to be able to take this trip, he had to write about something that left an impression. I asked Mr Cale if he would talk with us for a school report. He said he would love to and this was his therapy. We listened for as long as he could talk. You could tell it still upset him at times during his accounts. What a great man, sailor and soldier that we will never forget. I´m attaching a photo I took in 2007
