Vic Butera
December 16, 2019
My name is Vic Butera and Steve was my Brother. Our family was our Dad Peter, our Mom Rose, Brother Roy, Steve and Victor and our Sisters Josephine and Mary Rose. Dad and Mom came to Chicago in 1927 from Amite Louisiana with their Son Roy, born in 1926. The others, all born on Chicago's near north side in an all Italian neighborhood, a great place to grow up in. My brother Steve always took me with him, he was five years older than me and we had fun times together. All of his friends became my friends all older and to this day still friends. Steve taught me how to ride a bike - a bike that he built from parts that he had found. He also taught me how to drive a car and so much more about life. A great big Brother, I love you Steve.

Uncle Steve was a man who had smiles to brighten your day, who always made you feel good with his warmth and grace. He was someone who had good stories to tell but he was also a good listener. He was patient, kind and fun to be with. He was no ordinary man and I loved him dearly.
Peace be with you Uncle Steve, I'll miss you always.
Love, Debbie
