Steve Churchill Obituary
With heartfelt sadness our family announces the passing of Steve Churchill on August 1, 2021 peacefully in his home in his 69th year.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Donna Churchill (nee Roche). He was the son of the late George and Melda Churchill of Halifax N.S. Steve was a loving and devoted father to Jenn Churchill (Dylan) of Bowmanville, ON, and Jeff Churchill (Laura) of Courtice, ON. Steve was a cherished and proud 'Gramps' to Hannah and he will be deeply missed by his sisters Gail and Heather, his nieces, nephew, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Steve enjoyed spending time with his vast social circles and was a passionate organizer of his annual Myrtle Beach golf trips. He was known for rolling in long putts with his 'Thirsty Nighters' golf group and making sure everyone confirmed their attendance by Tuesday... and not a day later. Steve enjoyed cheering on his favourite sports teams, the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburg Steelers. He will be deeply missed but not forgotten by his fine group of buddies.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre for their exceptional support and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Durham Region Cancer Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Facility 2700 Audley Rd, Ajax ON (Audley Hall) on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 2-4 p.m., all are welcome.

My wife Mary and I met Steve about 25 yrs ago when he worked for Triden and we were starting up a boat top and upholstery business.
Steve was a great rep for Triden - we both liked him immediately. Over time, we began to look forward to his visits to our shop, and I think he timed his day to allow himself a half hour break to shoot the breeze with us .
It was Steve who got us into his football pool. His team - the Steelers were enjoying some success at the time, and his enthusiasm encouraged us to get in on the fun.
It's rare to meet someone whom you immediately like, but Steve was that rare person. It's unfortunate for us that we lived in Peterborough after retiring. Otherwise, I'm sure I would have angled for invitations to his golf holidays and weekly games.
Steve knew how to enjoy life. It was a pleasure to know him.

I met Steve through our friend and my co-worker Peter Nomm.
Whenever Steve came to visit Peter at our office he always had a great big smile on his face and when he left he would leave you smiling too.
Rest In Peace Steve. ❤

I was lucky enough to meet Steve while I was attending school in Ontario. Renting a room from his mother (my great aunt) I got to see Steve a lot as he was as great a son as he was a person. It absolutely breaks my heart to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to all the family, especially to Jenn and Jeff who lost a terrific dad, Gail and Heather losing a great brother.
