Steve was my guitar hero when I was 17 years old. The very first song my band learned was Green Onions. I was honored to have worked with Steve and the Original Blues Brothers Band on many shows both in Japan and the United States. Crop gifted a Fender Telecaster to me on our last trip to Japan. I will treasure it forever. Prayers to Angel and the children.

Steve was a wonderful guy. I was honored to participate at the Smithsonian when he donated his Telecaster & amp. Both used on the signature hits..Dock of the Bay.....etc. The band played for an audience of approximately 30 - 40 of us. They performed after Steve was interviewed by (at the time) Music Curator of the Museum of America, John Hasse. Nearing the end of the interview John asked Steve something to the effect " So Steve, today must feel very special for you". Steve replied "Just another day". Some of us were roaring! After the ceremony, 5 of us including Steve went to the Trump hotel to have a glass wine. He knew I played guitar...he placed his large hand on my shoulder and said to me.."Never, ever, stop playing". I´ll of course never forget it. The Global music community will miss you tremendously. As with great music and artists like you, we will always have your music & memories. Thank you. Rest In Peace.

Steve you brought great honors to Memphis and the world of music. I'll never forget the Christmas party with you, Sarah Fulcher , Duck Dunn and all the guys and how amazed you were that I could solve that Rubik's cube on the coffee table faster than you could... I've never stopped laughing about it and I'll always remember you. The musicians of the world salute you dear brother.

Mrs. Cropper & Family, I am honored to be able to express my sincerest condolences to your family for the loss of Mr. Cropper. As with millions of others, Mr. Cropper influenced and impacted my life through his gifts and talents he shared to the world. Music never sounded the same to me once I heard him play. While I never had the honor of meeting him, my heart breaks for your loss. Truly, I pray for you all in this time of mourning and hope that you are surrounded by love and comfort in knowing how he was able to impact a complete unknown and stranger, like myself. Sincerely and With Love, Tony Ojanovac

Steve, you were one of the reasons I took up playing the Fender Telecaster. The MG's music, and Stax soul in general, influenced me greatly. Rest in peace, and thank you!
