Services will be this Sunday in Santa Cruz, for Steve Hudson who passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2012 at his Aptos home. He was 49 years old. Steve was born in San Leandro and moved to Aptos 25 years ago. He was a landscape contractor with a career that spanned over 34 years. Steve's dedication to his job was second only to his devotion to his boys and their activities. He served on the board of directors of Aptos Little League and was instrumental in choosing from the quarry and installing the large boulder dedicated to the 2002 team that played in the Little League World Series in Williamsport. Steve also planted the trees that line the Little League field and volunteered his time for youth sports in many ways. His family will forever cherish the memories of his love for collecting vehicles. Historic and restorable autos, boats, and most recently the acquisition of a fire truck, were examples of his passion for motor sports. Steve also had a love for the ocean and recently began sailing in the San Francisco Bay.
Steve is survived by his three sons, James, Ben, and Sam Hudson, and their mother, Sonia Beatham, all of Aptos; his mother and step-father, Jeanne (Richard) Curran-Little of Fremont, CA; and many loving family members, colleagues, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Hudson. Friends are invited to a Celebration of his life in a farewell ceremony at The Silver Spur, restaurant in Santa Cruz, on Sunday, October 21, beginning at 11:00 AM.
