Steve Mallos Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 12 to Oct. 15, 2023.
Longtime resident of Edmonds Steve Mallos passed away on October 11th. Born in Seattle, he was the youngest sibling of a close-knit Greek Family. He attended Greek School in Seattle and has remained friends with many of his classmates.

Hardworking and resilient, he worked three jobs to keep his young family going in the 50s. He served in the Marine Corp and the Army. He was called to serve in the Korean War when his daughter was just a baby. His family then moved to Tacoma in 1955 and it was there that he started his career with AAA in the 1960s. He retired from AAA in 1991 as an Executive Vice President. During that time he forged many lifelong friendships with his colleagues.

Steve had a passion for life and was often referred to as the "Energizer Bunny" by his daughter. He enjoyed many winters in Arizona traveling with his late wife Sophia. Among his passions were fishing with his son-in-law at Hood Canal, golfing and spending time with his stepson George, as well as growing prize-winning tomatoes at his Edmonds home. Most importantly, his family was his joy. Whether he was at Hood Canal fishing and eating oysters or a guest in Granite Falls he just loved being with his family.

As the patriarch of our family he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his daughter Judy (Greg) Larson, stepson George (Tierre) Natseos, his grandchildren Matt Larson, Kara Larson, Abbie Lacsina, Lacie Thompson, Sean Doman, Hannah Kleffner and Georgia Natseos and 6 great grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews and his dear friend Joyce. Preceding him in death were his wife, Sophia and son, Michael. He left a wonderful, lasting legacy for his family and friends.

Services will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption, 1804 13th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122 on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m.
