Dear Kay: My deepest sympathy in the lost of Steve. I was in Vermont at a conference when I received word and unfortunately I was unable to attend his memorial service. I'll always remember his challenging the answer at this year's World Quest involving the 'heir and a spare' as he was leaving the event. Peace be with you and your family at this time.

Dear Kay
I am shocked to read the news about Steve. We only met one evening, you know when, and I quickly realized that he was an extraordinary man! As I read about his life, I am not surprised to learn about his accomplishments, kindness and joy he brought to many.
When someone dear is taken away from us so unexpectedly, we are only left with memories. The good thing about memories is that they will stay with us forever and help us overcome the sadness. I wish you strength during these difficult times.

I was so shocked to read about Steve's sudden passing. He was always so positive, upbeat and fun. I have many fond memories of him from Ft. Lauderdale High School and the reunions after graduation. I know you have many wonderful lifetime memories which will help you through this difficult time. My thoughts and deepest sympathy to you and John.

Kay...When I retired from TLB I missed Steve's steady, confident, smiling support the most. His calm approach, caustic remarks, and wry smile made each day a pleasure rather than work.
He was a colleague, friend and more often my mentor rather than me his.
I'll truly miss him. Love, Jack

Steve: The GOBS will certainly miss you on the courts. Your old neighbor will also miss you.

April 27, 2010

Dear Mrs. Ferguson,

You do not know me and I did not know Steve. However, I was saddened by his death as he passed while in my arms on the tennis court at Belle Haven. I had the opportunity to read his obituary and it is quite apparent that he was a man that loved tennis, people and giving back to his community. It is without question that we will be missed by his family and by the many he helped educate.

With deepest regards,

Joe Panaro

I was so surprised to hear of Steve's passing. Our Class of 57 of Ft. Lauderdale High School is in mourning. He was was always so uplifting during our reunions with his candid remarks during all of our different events. I also had the privilege of playing tennis with Steve at our reunion, which was both competative and fun. Like him, tennis is also one of my loves of life. We'll miss him dearly. Our deepest sympathy to you Kay, and your family. Janet Stone Hutchinson

To Steve's Family - may Steve enjoy many - "forty-love" tennis matches looking over all of the many friends he made in high school and in life. Voted Most Dependalbe of our class was a perfect choice - Steve will be missed that is for sure in life and at the FLHS Class Reunions.
