Dear Sharon. I have been a fan of you and Steve since I first read Balance of Trade (`80s) and got all the earlier books and ever one since. I was just preparing to buy the new one when I read about Steve´s passing. You have all my condolences and good wishes for the future. THANK YOU!!!

Sharon, I grieve with you on the loss of Steve. The two of you have made the fabric of my life so much better with your unique writing. I've been a fan since the beginning will always treasure the time I've spent with my story collection. In the interviews you and Steve gave, he always seemed so strong and such a rock for you to lean on. Your writing, humor, and dedication to your millions of fans will always be my rock to lean on. P.S., you will be happy to hear the library copies of your works are ALWAYS in reader's hands. Lucky me, I buy multiple copies, e-books and hardcover, paperbacks, so I always have a copy nearby! Dieting is part of love and as we all go through it together, some last longer than others. But maybe God has a reason for it. Please accept my prayers of thankfulness for Steve´s life here on earth. May he rest in peace. Also, has Theo gotten trouble yet?

This morning I got on to my computer to answer emails and check on different accounts and orders pending. I saw my Amazon Ribbon Dance confirmation. Then it hit me. I don't know what will happen to the Liaden Universe after this, but without the unique literary melding of Steve and Sharon, it will never be the same. Both Becky and I have voraciously devoured each novel and short story as published. We have even gotten into arguments over who would get to read first (LOL).
We wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to Sharon. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to learn today that Steve Miller died at his home this past Tuesday. Before the COVID crisis I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and playing chess with him at the REM CENTER on Temple Street. At various times we also played online chess when COVID precluded meeting in person. At that time I was managing the Waterville Chess Club; Steve offered me advice and was so modest in his demeanor that I was unaware that he had formerly been President of the club.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I remember Steve as an active member of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society in the 1970s and as a welcome fellow traveler to conventions in other states (Ann Arbor, Michigan in January). I remember his calmness when we returned through a blizzard.

I´m at a loss for words. The Liaden Universe has resonated profoundly with me. Steve gave grace and charity in all things.
He will be sorely missed.
