Steve W. Savage

I think about you, I care about you, I pray for you in my heart.

I am shocked and so sad to hear of Steve's passing. I've never met a more dedicated colleague who promoted the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. He will be missed, but his spirit will live on in all of us. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Steve was a fantastic character with a heart the size of Alaska, an incredible mind, sharp wit, and a mission to make the world a better place. In a life full of meetings, yet another appointment on the calendar can be difficult to celebrate. When I had a meeting with Steve on the horizon, I always looked forward to it. Not only was he a wonderful colleague, but Steve became a good friend. I learned a lot from him and thoroughly enjoyed his anecdotes and unique perspective. The Indiana Business Leadership Network, dedicated to improving inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace, is growing and thriving due to the work of Steve Savage. His accomplishments were many, and Steve will be sorely missed. Simply put... Steve was a great guy to whom few compare. I will always miss him.

I worked with Steve while working with the IPS schools. He showed such love, concern, and dedication to our students with special needs. He was the finest man and I extend my deepest sympathies to his family.

I knew Steve from grade school(Marshall) to high school (Jackson). Steve was a kind person that never had a bad thing to say about anyone. My condolences to his family.

Steve was an incredible man. I had the privilege of working with him many times over the past several years. This news was very sad. Peace and strength to you during this difficult time. You now have an amazing guardian angel watching over you.

I have had the pleasure of working with Steve through his contract with the Indianapolis Public Schools for many years. Steve could make any difficult situation more tolerable through his wit, humor and tenacity for resolution. His knowledge of services for young adults with disabilities was the best resource anyone could access. I looked forward to any planning meeeting if Steve were involved as I knew we would accomplish our mission and have a great time getting there. Steve's personality was such a presence in a room...he will be so missed.

A friend since he showed up at Marshall grade school around 1960. Had a great sense for adventure that drove him to explore the nooks and crannies of the world around him. Always good natured, curious and smart. Many, many, great memories.
