I think of you all the time. After all you were a large part of my high school life, and for the 2 years after till I joined the Navy and went to Japan for 3 years. When I finally located you again it seems like no time till you were gone. I still Facebook with Bob. I remember I was in Hawaii visiting my daughter and her husband who was in the Army, when Bob let me know you had gone on. It was a terrible day. I miss you brother.

I will always cherish the memories I have of you. I know you are in a much better place now. I am so glad we got to talk one last time before you left, although if I had of known it was our last conversation I would have had so much more to say. Keep watch on all of us still down here, especially Bob. And save a seat for me. Good-bye my friend.

It will be two weeks tonight at 8:43 pm (EST) and you are missed more than ever. Savanna & Willie are constantly running around and looking for you. Willie's hearing seems a bit better, might you have something to do with that and I found the CD in the player (nice trick) I know, I know "It's right there in front of you". Bob, I send to you my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved Steve. I lost my Steve some time ago and can honestly say, I do know how you feel. My heart breaks for you because Steve is in a better place now while you must deal with going on each new day without him. I know your heart has been broken, but trust when I say you will soon realize, as your heart begins to mend, and it will whether you want it to or not, that it truly is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. As cliché as that sounds, it’s so very, very true. All the years of accumulating love and wonderful memories together will all be renewed in your heart and spirit. The pain will eventually lessen but the love and memories will continue to be a part of your soul to help you through each and every day for the rest of your life. Recognize how blessed you are to have had Steve in your life and that it's only a matter of time until you're together again. Please know you are not alone and let Steve be your angel to help guide you forward. Please lean on your faith and friends through this difficult time. You are a good person and I’m glad to have had you as a part of my life in Winston-Salem and forward. I wish I were there to help you through this, but know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Your Friend Always, Vicki
