Steven Beard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
November 29, 1953 - December 22, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Edward Beard at the age of 71. He will be remembered for his gregarious laugh, work ethic, including longevity in the car business, where he worked for over 30 years, love for football (Buckeyes) and lastly tending to his animals and land in later years. He has always enjoyed companionship with dogs and leaves behind his four-legged child, Gus - a large mastiff with a gentle soul, which Steve referred to affectionately as "Gus Bus". Steve grew up in Columbus OH, moving to Hastings, NE and later Omaha, NE; before retiring in Clarksville, AR.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Beard and Alma Alberta (Smith) Beard. Survived by his wife of ten years, Ophelia Jane Howard. Children: Charissa Beard, Brian Edward Beard (Samantha), Douglas Beard. Brothers: Herbert Beard, William Beard and Michael Beard.

A memorial service will be held on March 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Southridge Church, 1250 N. Washington St., Papillion, NE 68046, where we will gather to honor his life and share memories.

I was privileged to work with Steve at HP Smith Ford for several years. He had a great smile and we had great times. Rest in peace

Although we never were lucky enough to meet Steve, we have been blessed by living across the street from his dear sweet daughter, Charissa!!! We also had Brian living as our neighbor for a while too. They are both very terrific people to know and we have to believe Steve had a part in them turning out so well. So sorry we won´t be back to Omaha soon enough to attend his service. Mental (((HUG)))s attached.
Sincerely Yours
