In Loving Memory of

Steven Robert Green

February 21, 1984 – May 11, 2025

Steven Robert Green was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend. Known for his humor, warmth, and good looks, Steve had a gift for making others laugh and feel seen. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Steve was born in Walnut Creek, California, and raised in both California and Texas. He was happiest outdoors-fishing, camping, kayaking, playing sports, and making lifelong friendships. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2002 and recently fulfilled a long-held dream by earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Houston, just one week before his passing.

A natural in the world of medical sales, Steve spent over a decade as a top-performing executive. He was admired for his charisma, work ethic, and genuine care for people.

Steve married Ashley Horton after four years of love and friendship, welcoming her children, Ryland and Alyssa, as his own. Together they built a blended family full of love, laughter, and resilience. Despite being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, Steve faced every challenge with remarkable strength, humor, and steadfast faith. Throughout 3.5 years of treatment, he never stopped fighting. On May 11, 2025, Steve passed away from heart and kidney failure at the age of 41, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and grace.

His final wish was for his ashes to be spread along Montana's Ruby River-a place he described as "clear, cool water beneath the big Montana sky."

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Green; his sons, Gavin Green and Asher Green; daughter, Sawyer Green; stepson, Ryland Dawson; stepdaughter, Alyssa Dawson; mother and father, Barbara and Robert Green; sister, Pamela (Michael) Born; nieces, Joslyn and Jenna Born; grandmothers, Peggy Joyce Bailey and Barbara Elaine Green; mother and father-in-law, Kelly and Ralph Horton; and his beloved boxer, Hank. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Barratt Edwin Bailey and Bobbie Lee Green, both of whom he looked forward to joining in heaven, maybe doing a little trout fishing with his Grandpa Green.

Steve and I briefly worked together at a 'lab' before I gave my notice. Although I didn't know him very long, I quickly learned what was important to him. He loved his children, his wife, his parents and his family. He was smart, friendly, a storyteller, hardworking and kind. I am truly sorry for your loss because even in the short time I knew him, I saw what a special person he was.. He also had great eyebrows!

I was deeply saddened to hear about Steven's passing. Steven was the first person I met when I moved into the neighborhood last year and he helped me feel welcome. I knew right away that he was a great guy. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Please know that we are here for you.
