During their time away, they had their children, Justin and Stephanie. Steve was very active in his kids' lives, devoting much of his time to coaching and traveling for their sports teams while they were growing up.
Steve worked in the nuclear field for over 30 years, finishing his career at Energy Northwest as a maintenance scheduler, and retiring in 2014. In retirement, Steve enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping with his family, traveling to attend reunions of Unit 6918 Security Squadron at Hakata Administration Annex, Pacific Air Forces, Hakata, Japan, and spending time with his lifelong friends Marvin & Wanda McCollom, Steve & Patti Boothe, and Wayne & Joann Callaway.
Steve had a passion for old Chevrolet's his whole life. He kept and restored his first car, a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad. Over the years, he had many different classic cars and enjoyed traveling in them to parades and car shows all over the Northwest and in 2015, he and Jeena traveled across the country via Route 66 in their Corvette.
Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeena, children Justin (Jennifer) Hoegh and Stephanie (David) Haug, grandchildren Samantha, Olivia, and Henrik, sisters Sandi Mundell and Terri (Mark) Stiltz and his nieces and nephews.
