Steve was my friend and even though we didn't see each other, he was never far from my heart. The world needs more people like Steve

Steve taught me how to be human. It was the way he constantly found love and gave love in everything he did. One of my closest friends in the world. I feel the ache and sadness, but the joy he left stays too. Know that I am always there for you, the family remaining.
love,
Lloyd (Zimmerman)

Steve hired me for my first journalism job. He was kind and gentle soul who trusted this young buck to be a Skyway News editor. I have since been in the industry for more than 25 years and for he the past 20 have been a publisher. But I'll never forget the man who gave me my start...

What a nice guy. He played sax with me for a while in a jazz combo. I'm glad he was able to pursue music at Berklee.

My prayers are with you all in the loss of your father, grandfather and husband Steven. . . I loved working with him as my fellow columnist and then later my editor in the "OLD DAYS" at Skyway News - when he took over the paper for his father Sam. .. Great memories for us all here in the downtown community.
