Age 47, on Thursday, May 1, 2014, of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 25 years to Kim Kirk; loving father of Mitch, Corinne and Lucas; brother of Paul (Karen), Matt (Kelli), Kathy and Sharon; son of Patricia Kirk; son-in-law of Ron and Carol Huber; brother-in-law of Ron (Shel), Denise (Alan), and Kevin (Sue); also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227 on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. only. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9. Hello: Having lost my brother one year ago today, I remember the freshness of my grief. I am sorry that you have to live on through this; I hope that you continue to simply rise each day and live through this however you need to. I am sorry for your loss. The grief we experience at the loss of a loved one is difficult to bear. Jesus wept when he saw the pain and grief of Lazarus' family and friends, then he gave them comfort beyond measure. I hope you find comfort during this difficult time.

Our deepest and most sincerest condolences go out to all of you. Steve was a wonderful, very strong man who was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed much the same. Dearest Kim and Family,
It is difficult to accept that Steve is gone and words can't express how much we love you and support you during this time.
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
There is no question that Steve is with God in heaven.
