Steve, it was an honor to know you and to experience the Wallets in the 1980s as a devoted fan. The show at the Guthrie, the band's last gig, was not only impressive, but it revealed truly how much your fans and family loved you. You've been able to create amazing things, saw things others do not, and then allowed the audience openly into your creative space. Wonderful person. Peace.

A man of innovation but also someone who made you feel alive and so fun to be around. I'm so blessed to have known Steve. Your spirit will forever ~ live on.

I hadn't seen Steve in a few years, but thought of him often. I have many good memories of his kindness, creativity, and most of all his humor. I laughed a lot in his fine company and I will never forget him. My sincere condolences to all of his family and close friends. The love lives on.

I loved the Wallets and I loved working with Steve on ads. His genius, his humor, his kindness, his joy. What a bright light.

He was a genius. You knew when you were in his presence that this was someone truely special. One of the most gifted people I have ever had the pleasure to know. And who can ever forget that smile of his.

I remember Steve as the sweet and talented younger brother of my best friend Betsy...too young to leave so soon..condolences to all the family and friends he leaves behind.

One night at the Cabooze? when Steve was on stage with the Wallets, I marveled how he beat the guitar strings and box like a percussionist while running his fingers up and down the frets. I'm not a musician, so maybe this is a well known technique, but I loved the sound.

Stevie Kramer was the wild, crazy, artist, musician, genius in my teen age life. He was cooler than just about anyone else. What a great guy.

Steven Is a wonderful person. Although he has changed form, I still feel his presence with us. May we all experience the joy and happiness that is so much of a part of Steven. Our fondest memories of him warm our hearts.

Steve's music touched people in unexpected ways. In 1988 my daughter was in 2nd grade and her favorite band was the Wallets. My family actually owned a Wallet's demo tape because my husband used to book local bands for special events. The little girl brought the tape as a Show and Tell item to share and played the song Totally Nude - not only because she loved the Wallets but because the teaching intern in her class was Jim Clifford! To this day Steve's music has a special memory for us.

Steve, it was an honor to have met such a light of life. I will always remember your positive presence and wonderful humor. I will take that with me the rest of my life and always smile when I think of you.

My sympathies to the Kramer family,
Whenever I get together with old friends and we reminice about the days of yore and the music scene from the late 70's and early eighties, "The Wallets" are recalled with incredible fondness.

Dear Mr. Kramer

I met you when i was 4 or 5 years of age and you were in your wild Steve teen years, you had come by the Lodermeier house hold and i will never forget that out fit you had on that day.
It was a white with black polkadot rain jacket, you had a wig on and a pair of slinky eyeball glasses :)

You had invented the art of house racing that had got passed down to the Paulsen house hold over the years that I had a chance to try....Hmmm.

I can recall any number of storys or activities from my young life at that time, you were positively a goofball ahead of your time.
I guess God need you to write him a jingle or teach him the Accordion parts to your songs.

Rest in peace Steve.

And a legend joins Augie Garcia, Doug Maynard, Shirley Witherspoon, and Doug Nelson upstairs. We'll miss you, dude.
