Jill,
I would like to express my sincerest regrets on the death of Steve. You did not know me. And, for that matter, I have not seen Steve in over forty years. We were stationed together in England and I always thought a lot of him. I have tried to follow his accomplishments all of these years, and there have been many. It was a priviledge to know him.

Steve and I shared a few years, some laughs, and a lot of joy, together as Big Brother/Little Brother.
Someone else mentioned his "Sweetness" and that is so true!
He always seemed to enjoy everything he did, and passed that on to those around him.
I was truly lucky to have him share his time with me!
Guess everyone in Heaven is gonna learn to fish!!
God Bless you Jill, Emily, & Becca.
You will be missed Buckshot!!

Steve was a year ahead of me in high school. During his senior year (1959-1960) we both had after-school jobs (when we weren't in sports). We left school at 2, something kids with jobs were allowed to do if they had study hall last period. Steve gave me a ride with him, dropped me off at my job downtown, then drove to his at Compton's Mens Store. We both were readers of MAD magazine. :-) I hope this doesn't sound strange, but I remember Steve's "sweetness." He was so darn nice to me, the way all upperclassmen should be to underclassmen. I still remember both his parents with fondness. His dad was a great dad (he cared for my dog) & his mom a great mom. Lucky guy. Anyone who associated with Steve was lucky. One more thing: I loved his writing in the Benson paper. He wrote some memorable columns -- ones I clipped & saved in my "Benson archives."

Steve and I were room mates at RAF Chicksands in the early 60`s. We both were Morse Intercept Operators only Steve was much better at it than I. I will always remember, as young men, the adventures we shared there. God Bless Steve, God Bless his family
