Steven Niehus Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 28, 2025.
Steven Michael "Steve" Niehus, 55, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Littleton, Colorado. Born on March 10, 1970, in Denver, Colorado, Steve lived a vibrant life filled with curiosity, creativity, and devotion to family and friends.

As Vice President of Production in his family's door business, Steve brought ingenuity and heart to every project. His hands-on expertise and steadfast problem-solving made him a cornerstone of the company. Beyond technical skill, he built genuine and lasting relationships with customers and suppliers alike.

Family was at the heart of everything Steve did. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Frank and Lynn Niehus; his sisters, Cindy Ryan (Mark) and Kim Mossberger (Brian); and his nieces and nephews, Tori, Kyle, Mackenzie, Talon, Xander, Tehya, and Keely-each of whom held a special place in his heart. His loyal dog Randi was also a constant companion and source of joy.

Steve's adventurous spirit found expression in countless hobbies. He was an avid scuba diver who loved exploring underwater worlds. Photography allowed him to capture the beauty he saw around him-from landscapes to family moments. In the kitchen and garden alike, Steve's creativity flourished; he enjoyed baking, cooking (spicy) meals, canning produce, and tending to his garden with care. He also had a passion for carpentry and could often be found building or fixing something with skillful hands.

Whether riding ATVs through rugged trails or playing a round of golf on a sunny afternoon, Steve embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. Time spent at the family cabin brought him peace and connection-a place where memories were made with those he loved most. Traveling offered him new experiences that fed his curiosity about the world.

Steve's legacy is one of generosity and craftsmanship. He was always there when someone needed help-ready with tools in hand or simply a listening ear. A skilled craftsman with an eye for detail and a heart full of kindness, Steve took pride in being dependable and resourceful. Those who knew him will remember not only what he did but how he made them feel: supported, valued, and cared for.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Mort and Evelyn Reynolds; Cletus Niehus; Wilma and Ray Jochum; uncles Merlin, Mike, and Pat; and cousins Wes and Greg.

Steve leaves behind not only what he built but also how he made others feel-steadfast in support and generous in spirit. May his memory be a comfort to all who knew him-a joyful reminder of a life richly lived. A Memorial Service & Reception will be held, details to follow.

You were one of the very first people to encourage me that I had a chance of a relationship with your sister, so many years ago. Four children and 26 years of marriage find me in debt to you for that moment and what is now everything that I cherish most in this world. I am going to miss you brother.
