Steven Pilgrim Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 21, 2024.
Steven Pilgrim, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 71, after a prolonged battle with slow-progressing liver illness. He was born on November 29, 1953, in Stockton, California, to Louis Pilgrim and Bonnie Tankersley. As a devout Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints member, he served in the Kentucky/Tennessee mission. After his mission, he moved to Provo, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University. He lived in Utah County for many years until he and his wife Kristin started a new adventure, relocating to Missouri in 2022.

Steve's life was defined by his love and devotion for his family, his strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and his steadfast passion for the San Francisco Giants, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Saints, and Minnesota Vikings. His enthusiasm for watching his favorite teams reflected his perceptive and attentive nature. A man of few words, Steve had a thoughtful nature and chose his words with care, making his insights and observations all the more meaningful to those lucky enough to hear them.

He was a proud and loving husband to his wife, Kristin. They shared a life filled with laughter, love, and joy. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos temple.

His love and support for his children never wavered. No matter their challenges or choices, he always stood by them, offering encouragement. His quiet presence was a constant source of strength, and his belief in them was a powerful force that helped guide them and will remain with them following his death.

Steve is survived by his wife Kristin and their son Christopher (Julie), his children Riley (Blayne) Pilgrim and Sydney (Robert) Moffitt from his marriage to Mary Gwynn Longorio, his stepdaughters Bonnie (Mark) Ripley, Amy (Ryan) Hill, and Ivy Acosta, and his 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Steve's life will be held in early 2025. Details will be provided to family and friends. The family would like to thank all those who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
