Steven Regeser

Tucson - Steven Gilbert Regeser, 57, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, after a courageous two-year battle with ALS. He was surrounded by family and loved ones in his final moments.

Born on November 3, 1967, in Tucson, Steve was a graduate of Catalina High School and went on to attend the University of Arizona before embarking on a distinguished career in public service.

Steve dedicated 25 years to the Tucson Fire Department, where he rose through the ranks and retired as an Engineer. His commitment to protecting and serving the community left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him and on the countless lives he touched during emergencies. He was also featured in the Tucson Fire Department Calendar, a testament to both his dedication and camaraderie within the department.

Beyond his firefighting career, Steve pursued his lifelong passion for aviation. As a private pilot and instructor at both Tucson's FlightSafety program and AZ. Flyers club he shared his knowledge and love of flying with aspiring aviators. He also flew professionally and privately and found joy piloting trips to the Sea of Cortez and Baja Mexico-destinations that combined his love for flight with his deep appreciation for the ocean. A supporter of Sea Shepherd, Steve held a strong respect for marine conservation efforts.

Steve lived life with energy and enthusiasm. He enjoyed mountain biking through desert trails, hiking and exploring new landscapes, traveling to new places, and dedicating time to bodybuilding-a reflection of his discipline and strength.

Above all else, Steve cherished being a father. He adored his son, Jacob Regeser (12), enriching Jacob's life with love, wisdom, and character. Their bond was profound and enduring.

Steve is survived by his beloved son, Jacob Regeser; Maresa Padilla; his sister Laurie (Regeser) Krasinski and her husband, Dr. Edmund Krasinski; his brother Eddie Regeser; and his sister Juli (Regeser) Shain. Preceded in death by his Parents, Theresa and Julius Regeser.

A memorial service celebrating Steve's life will be held on November 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd., Tucson, AZ 85718.

Steven's legacy lives on through the lives he touched-as a firefighter, pilot, friend, brother, son, cousin-and most importantly, as a devoted father. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
