Steven Thomas Robinson Jr.

Steven Thomas Robinson Jr. was born in Gary, IN on August 13th, 1971, to proud parents, Diane and Steven T. Robinson Sr. Steve was the second-born son, and he always looked up to his older brother Vernon Robinson. Growing up you never heard Steve's name alone. It was always Vernon & Steve (Salt n Pepper). Steve grew up in Gary and attended Catholic Schools in the early years. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1989. After High School, Steve moved to South Bend, Indiana and worked at Data Tech for several years. Steve decided to continue his education and received his Associate Degree in Computer Science from Ivy Tech Community College. Steve believed in hard work and performed several jobs throughout his years: City of Gary/Department of Vehicle Maintenance, Gates Chevy World in South Bend, Indiana, and Sam's Club in Merrillville, Indiana. Steve always greeted you with a smile and brought joy to anyone who was in his presence. Steve accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Embassies of Christ in Gary, IN. Steve was a active member of First Baptist Church in Hammond, IN until his health started to decline. If you knew Steve, you knew he loved the Lord. He did not hesitate to share the word with you. He was a true and faithful servant. Steve faced several health challenges but never waivered in his faith and always trusted in God's plan for his life. On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Steve was called home to be with the Lord. He was proceeded in death by his Father Steven Robinson Sr. and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Steve leaves to mourn his mother, Diane Robinson; brother Vernon (Diane) Robinson, niece, Jailynn Robinson; nephew, Julian Robinson; uncle, Jim Marks; aunt, Anita Pointer; extended family: Sylvia, Shawn, Sierra, Ramone; Cornelius Sandidge; cousin, Antonio Lyons and host of cousins, friends, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 12:00PM-7:00PM with family hours 5:00PM-7:00PM at McDuffie Funeral Home 1525 Broadway Gary, Indiana. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 at First Baptist Church Auditorium in Hammond, Indiana at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery Hobart, Indiana.
