So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My condolences to all the Roth brothers and sisters. We have such great memories growing up next door to all of you. Lynne and I always wanted to hang around with Roger and Steve and the rest of the guys. Those were very special times during our youth.

My deepest sympathies to Steve's beloved family. I first met Steve when we were freshmen in high school. When I was in the hospital for two weeks senior year, he visited me several times a day every day…he did me a huge favor and ate the awful food for me :-) But most of all he was there to comfort me, making me laugh through the pain. We got together many times later in life, usually over beers, and never once did we not laugh until we cried. I lost track of Steve for awhile after he moved away, but was so happy when he contacted me in 2008 via email. It was so good to hear he hadn't changed, still a joker with a golden heart. I will never forget his handsome face, his endearing smile or twinkling eyes. He was a true friend to me, always. I saved all of his emails, and in one he wrote: “When I die I want people to relax and mix with one another, one more time…and, if, I've got the money, there will be a high energy music party, with great lights, and please, come and get buzzed...then later, get up and back into your life, again…yea, get moving…I'm off into another part of the universe.” I find comfort in knowing Steve is as he said simply “off into another part of the universe.” And when I get back to Peoria, I will gather together some of Steve's oldest friends, and we shall as he requested relax, mix and get buzzed with one another surrounded by high energy music and great lights to honor Steve's memory. May you rest in eternal light and peace, dear friend.
