I only learned today of steve's passing. We initially met in Jr High school, and enjoyed a good friendship through Hinsdale Central. It was at our 40th high school reunion that we reconnected, and kept in touch in DC and Annapolis. The last visit was at his home over dinner and cigars. A good man gone too soon. He shall be missed. My deepest condolences to his family. You are in my prayers. Sky

Very rarely do you get to know and have as a friend, a man of honor and integrity, like Steve Simeral. This great man will be missed.

Oh my goodness, where does one start when talking about Steve Simeral. Common words seem trite compared to the giant that Steve was. He will be truly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Just know that he lives on in the hearts of many. Rest in peace Steve.

Steve had a larger than life personality and his exuberance was contagious. You couldn't help but laugh with him as he recalled any number of his (mis)adventures. He had an uncanny ability to weave humour and insight into a cohesive narrative, I will definitely miss his unique views on the commodity markets. He was always eager to share his vast amount of knowledge on a seemingly endless array of topics, and for that I am forever grateful. Our deepest condolences to Anne, Ryan, and family.

Steve was a truly wonderful neighbor who gave of his time and resources selflessly. Serving on our homeowners' association board with him was a great pleasure. Jeff and I are grateful for Steve's dedicated service and all 'round community support. He will certainly be missed in our little corner of the world and no doubt beyond.

My wife Jane and I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Anne as we were building houses next door to each other in late 2001. There were many times that Steve came to the rescue for my mom or my family using his skills a couple of times as a paramedic when my mom fell. We enjoyed many talks about baseball and football, but especially talking about our grandchildren. You couldn't help but to like Steve after 10 seconds after talking to him. Steve you will be truly missed. God bless you my friend.

An incredible guy who always gave more than he took. Steve never hesitated to help and inform me and ALWAYS made me laugh - mostly about ourselves. A huge loss - I miss him already...

Anne, Ryan and family, Steve was indeed a legend among his peers and one of the nicest persons one could ever know, both personally and professionally. I am proud to have counted him as a colleague and friend over the years. I hope all the cherished memories and thoughts and prayers from everyone give you comfort in your time of sorrow
