STEVEN MICHAEL TUOMINEN
January 14, 1948 ~ July 18, 2012
Steven Michael Tuominen, age 64, passed away Wed., July 18, 2012, in Battle Ground, WA, at Mallard Landing where he had resided for almost two years. He was a resident of Clark County for 18 years. Steve was born in Vancouver, WA, to Rueben "Bill" and Esther (Belden) Tuominen on Jan. 14, 1948. He was a lifetime member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
He attended Washington State University in Pullman, WA and Michigan Tech in Houghton, MI. Steve was a research metallurgist.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and cross country skiing.
Steve is survived by his mother, Esther B. Tuominen of Vancouver, WA; son, Gary Tuominen of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Rebecca Ross of Hillsboro, OR and Sharon Tuominen of Wilmington, NC; brothers, Monty (Judy) Tuominen and Jim (Betty) Tuominen of Battle Ground, WA, Bob of Vancouver, WA and Bill (Julie) of Minneapolis, MN; and a sister, Tammy Warren of Vancouver, WA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, in 1984.
The funeral service will be held on Wed., July 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 16603 NE 142nd Ave., Brush Prairie, WA 98606. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.

Steve was one of the guys I would go hiking and cross-country skiing with until about 5 years ago. He was a man of few words, but always on a good mood out in nature and never a negative word about anyone. He kept God first in his life and thought a lot about his kids. Condolances to the family and remember what little he had to say about what was important in life and after.
