When did he not make me laugh?? Being around Steven was like trying to ride out a tornado and what a ride it was. I met him many, many years ago while working with his mother; Dot. I will always remember the Tuttle family get together and the fun we had. Steven was truly a one of a kind unforgettable , hilarious, kind, generous "force of nature" who was loved and will be missed terribly.

Our hearts are so broken- what a one of a kind guy and a once-in-a-lifetime friend. Steve was the kind of person that was so easy to love! He could make us laugh at the drop of a hat, make anyone´s worst day better, and always knew exactly when we needed a good ol´ Tuttle check-in phone call. Nothing could brighten your day like hearing the sound of his scruffy voice telling the best story that leaves you in tears from laughing so hard. We are so thankful for the many many years of friendship and will cherish all of the memories ... and boy there are a lot of those. He definitely made the world a little better just by being himself and damn, we´re going to miss him. We were so lucky to have ya, Tuttle. Our forever friend.
Dot and Sandra- sending you prayers and love.
Love,
Paige and Scott Holloway

I'm at a loss for words. Steve was a friend first and a boyfriend for close to seven years (most of the 80's). His zest for life is what attracted all of us to him. He never met a stranger. He didn't act differently around anyone no matter who you were. He treated his dry cleaner exactly like he treated his wealthiest customer. You could hear him coming and feel the energy in the room change when he walked in it. He had this way of clicking his heels together and then taking off. He never was one to save something for a special occasion and learned this from his parents. Dot and Bill welcomed everyone into their home and made you feel like family. They were always celebrating. There will never be another human like Steve! Dot and Sandra please know that I am praying for you to find peace in the coming days and to be comforted that he lived life to the fullest! Love you both!

Steve was such a kind, giving and fun man who knew the meaning of friendship. After Hurricane Hugo he left his apartment and stayed with a friend so my husband, daughter and I could stay in his apartment until our power came on. He came by every day to visit and see if we needed anything. Such a loving and lovable person-a blessing to many. Well done dear friend. L, Greg and Sybil

The world has lost a fantastic a fantastic, witty, and etc, etc,,etc unique person. The Hub was truly special. I wanted to strangle him one minute and give him a hug the next. The best salesman I ever knew. Steve was a friend and coworker and I learned so much from him about life, culture, and too many other things to list. He did a ton for my career and family. A special person that will be truly missed.

First friend I met when my family moved to Charlotte in 71.We became good buddies, always honing our craft by throwing football , baseballs or shooting baskets in his backyard.. A true character popping Willie Horton pills and pulling for the Wolfpack. Good memories, Danny Burt
